ACL TEAR
One of the common sports injury which can be horrible to a person who is having it. The tear is classified into three types.
1) Grade 1 tear - which is a sprain on the anterior cruciate ligament.
2) Grade 2 tear - which is a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament.
3) Grade 3 tear - where the anterior cruciate ligament has a complete tear.
COMPLETE ACL TEAR
- The main cause of the ACL tear is usually an awkward landing in the ground where the leg is on a twisted position.
- Initial injury care includes the RICE method but taking proper medical attention is important.
- Diagnosis involves MRI scanning and Lachman's test which is performed by the physician.
- Treatment involves Physiotherapy, Surgery according to the type of tear and functional capacity of the tear.
